Digital 395 Project:  the Digital 395 Middle Mile Project would build a new 593-mile long fiber optic network route between Barstow, California and Carson City, Nevada.  The Digital 395 route consists of a main backbone that follows U.S. Highway 395, with spurs off the backbone that connect to various communities along the route.  The Inyo County Board of Supervisors approved, via Resolution 2011-45, a licensing agreement with the California Broadband Cooperative, Inc. for use of County land and rights-of-way to facilitate construction of the project, which also makes use of lands from other agencies such as the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), the Los Angeles Department of Water & Power (LADWP), the Bureau of Land Managment (BLM), Native American tribal reservations, Inyo National Forest, the Department of Defense (DOD), the City of Bishop, and various State-owned lands.
